In 1979 Michael and Betty Welbel, with the help of Michaels father, Leon Welbel, a recognized lamp designer from Eastern Europe, decided to open a portable lighting factory. The business started in a modest 7,000 square foot loft building in Chicago’s near south side. With imaginative styling, hard work, and dedicated service, the business grew at a steady pace. More employees were added as the business grew; along with a complete shade-manufacturing department that was added 2 years later. Customer satisfaction was never compromised as the business continued to grow each year.
Today Daniel Lamp Co. occupies 43,000 square feet on Chicago’s west side. Located in the midwest Daniel Lamp Co. is perfectly located to service your portable lamp needs. Timely, two-week delivery assures you that our product will be there when needed. A ship direct container program is available to large customers with bigger volume needs.
